2014 Seat Leon ST review and pictures

The 2014 Seat Leon ST has its world premiere today at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The third generation  of the Leon range has a sporty character but can also be an everyday car combining its dynamic design with precise handling while behind the steering wheel.

During this year`s IAA, the manufacturer presents the new Leon Ecomotive, with a CO2 emission rating of 87 g/ Km. The auto is powered by TDI and TSI engines ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 liters which work with direct injection and turbocharging. The transmissions also vary and depending on the motor can be a five or a six manual or a compact DSG dual clutch gearbox.

Part of the new elements brought by the lowest emitting Leon include optimized aerodynamics, closed off cooling apertures in the front, a roof spoiler, a specially adapted six speed manual transmission and rear screen side spoilers.

Top of the range technology added to the vehicle brings three new systems to the whole Leon range after their presentation in Frankfurt. These systems are the optional progressive steering, the ACC Adaptive Cruise Control with proximity radar and the DCC Adaptive Chassis control with variable damper adjustment.

The interior features a broad centre console, various storage spaces including closed cubbies in the doors, retractable sunshades for the rear side windows, folding tables positioned on the rear side of the front seats and a double level boot floor. For a more practical use, the rear seats backrests can be easily folded using integrated release handles.

In order to create the idea of an even more generous space, the auto features a panoramic sunroof. The sunroof can be controlled through the remote-control key.

The full LED headlights and tailings and the LED daytime running lights are optional features just like with the previous Leon five-door and SC.
