Message for World Radiography Day

Dr Fozy Peer ISRRT President

On behalf of the ISRRT - It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you all on the event of World Radiography Day (WRD). WRD is celebrated globally as a tribute to the Nobel Peace Prize-winning founder of x-rays, Professor Wilhelm Rontgen whose discovery on 8 November 1895 revolutionised medical diagnosis.

Radiographers all over the world hold this important day close to their hearts and this commemoration has become a global rallying call for all of us to ensure that radiographic imaging and radiation treatment continue to strive to achieve uncompromising service excellence. The ISRRT, as the voice of radiation medicine technology throughout the world, has adopted as the international theme this year; Radiography … Advancing Imaging and Healing Globally.

We encourage our member societies internationally to adopt this theme during the range of different activities that they provide to both members of the public and other healthcare professionals in order to maintain and improve the standards of delivery and the practice of medical imaging and radiation therapy.

WHO congratulates radiologists, radiographers and medical physicists

On behalf of WHO we wish to congratulate all medical physicists, radiologists and radiographers and encourages health professionals using radiation in health care to continually improve safety and quality, to foster excellence in health care services.
WHO has uploaded two messages for the International  World Radiography Day  (8th November 2014).
