Belgian Grand Prix

21.08.15 - 23.08.15
Spa-Francorchamps

Belgium's F1 Grand Prix is hosted by the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps racecourse, and was re-opened for the 2007 season after huge redevelopment works offering improved Paddock and garage facilities.

The circuit is one of the most historic on the Grand Prix calendar, dating to 1924. Until 1970 it also boasted the much-feared Masta Kink, a high-speed left-right chicane considered one of the most fearsome sections on any racetrack in the world. After several terrible casualties the Masta Kink was removed from the track - one of many modifications over the years.

Spa-Francorchamps is popular among both spectators and drivers: it is challenging because of the Spa region's unpredictable weather, and because it is undulating and twisty yet very fast (the Eau Rouge corner and Blanchimont turn enjoy particular notoriety). The skill required and the good opportunities for overtaking have made it the scene of some memorable driving duels.
