Alison Nimmo, CBE

Chief Executive of the Crown Estate

Born in Swansea and educated at the University of Manchester, urban regeneration specialist Alison Nimmo is the first woman to be chief executive of the Crown Estate, which owns a staggering £8.6 billion worth of property across the country. She made her name with Manchester Millennium, working on the rebuilding of the town centre following its devastation after the 1996 IRA bombings, and was director of design and regeneration for the 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority. 2012 saw Nimmo at number one in Property Week’s 100 Most Influential Women in Property and in 2014 she was awarded the prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute Gold Medal for services to planning throughout her career.
