Politics
With a general election looming, speculation on which politicians and parties are currently the most influential is rife. As politicians are, by the nature of their job, among the most powerful people in the country, a list of the most influential people in politics could therefore write itself, based solely on party leaders and cabinet or shadow cabinet members. Instead, the Debrett’s 500 has focused on the parliamentarians who have had a big impact through their campaigning and commentary in the last twelve months or are likely to exert particular power over the outcome of the upcoming general election.
