The recommended styles of address are as follows:

Beginning of letter Dear Judge or Dear Sir/Madam
Envelope District Judge Phillips
Verbal address  Judge or according to title

On retirement, district judges are not referred to by any title; they are simply referred to as ‘Mr’, ‘Miss’, ‘Mrs’ or ‘Ms’.
