BUSINESSMAN AND ENTREPRENEUR, FORMER PRIME MINISTER’S TRADE ENVOY

Businessman and entrepreneur the Rt Honourable Lord Marland has had an extensive career in British politics and, as of 2013, has been the current Prime Minister’s trade envoy. From 2012 to 2013 he was the parliamentary under-secretary in the Department for Business, Industry and Skills, having previously held the same role in the Department of Energy and Climate Change from 2010. Lord Marland also held the prestigious post of treasurer of the Conservative Party from 2003 until 2007 before becoming part of the team that led Boris Johnson to victory in the elections for Mayor of London. Prior to joining the murky world of politics, Lord Marland was one of the founding directors of multinational insurance business Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group.
