Vittorio Colao

Chief Executive, Vodafone Group

A board director, chief executive in Europe and deputy chief executive since 2006, Italian Vittorio Colao was appointed chief executive of Vodafone Group in 2008. After graduating from both Bocconi University and Harvard in Business, he began his career with Morgan Stanley and later McKinsey in Milan where he worked on media, telecommunications and industrial goods. After joining Vodafone he was appointed regional chief executive officer for Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2003. He left Vodafone to work for an Italian publishing company, but returned in 2006.
