The secretariat of the General People's Committee - Libya's government executive - has decided that a state of mourning will be observed in Libya as of today (Saturday) for three days for the Prisoner of War Saddam Hussein who was executed in Baghdad at dawn today.
Libya's green flag is to be flown at half mast and all festivities will be cancelled throughout Libya including the great Muslim festival of Eid Al Adha, the government decreed.
Colonel Gadaffi said that Saddam Hussein was a POW held by the US occupation forces, and as such should have been tried in the US or Britain, rather than in an Iraqi puppet regime's kangaroo court.
Gaddafi also said the Libyan political prisoner being held in Scotland found guilty in another kangaroo court should be released if others are calling for the release of the nurses sentenced to death in Libya. The nurses were sentenced to death by a Libyan court after being pronounced guilty of deliberately infecting hundreds of children with HIV. Already 50 of the children have died of AIDS. Gaddafi also said that funds promised for the victims by Europe, remained empty and had been a lie.
