U19 national team player Hakeem Sayeed takes 8 wickets in Regionalliga match

HakeemLast weekend saw an extraordinary bowling performance from German Under 19 all-rounder Hakeem Sayeed in a Regionalliga match in Karlsruhe.

17 year old off-spinner Hakeem was playing for his team Cricket Lions Blue (SSC Karlsruhe) against Karlsruher CC and managed to take 8-22 off 9 overs as KCC were reduced to 164 all out.

CLB replied with an opening stand of 85 with a half-century from Nadeem Ahmad before another youngster, Pratik Chaudhary saw his Team home with a score of 36.

Hakeem’s performance confirms the DCB’s opinion that he is one of the most talented young players in the country and this has seen him selected for the Germany Under 19 Team and the Alpine Tigers squad for the DCB Super Series. It also confirms the good work being done by SSC Karlsruhe.

209 off just 128 balls – Zeeshan Nazar starts the season with a bang

ZeeshanOver recent days the cricket media has been speculating over whether the 350 scored by English club cricketer Liam Livingstone in a Royal London Club match is the highest score in a one day game at any level of cricket.

We can’t quite match that, but last weekend did see an incredible performance by Gräfenhausen (Hessen) batsman Zeeshan Nazar who hammered an incredible 21 sixes and 12 fours in amassing 209 runs off just 128 balls, a record for the Hessen leagues, before the umpire ruined everybody’s fun by giving him out LBW. Last week Lord’s, this week Bremen – new Notts Sport pitch for SG Findorff

NottsSportThis week has seen our friends and partners from Notts Sport travelling to Bremen to install a brand new artificial cricket pitch for one of Germany’s most progressive clubs, SG Findorff. It is the same type of pitch that they installed on the nursery ground at Lord’s last week. You can’t get a better recommendation than that.

Funded by the club itself, with financial support from the DCB and ICC Europe’s Regional Facility Fund, the new pitch will allow cricket to grow in a city that has already seen major growth in the number of cricketers over the last two years since SG Findorff joined the DCB. Th eclub has expanded from just one men’s team to now having two men’s teams, a women’s team and several youth teams. Weiterlesen
