Desiree Scott's Signing Confirmed
Notts County Ladies confirm the signing of Canadian international midfielder Desiree Scott.
Scott, nicknamed ‘The Destroyer’ was initially announced as a new signing for the Lady Pies in January. However, soon after the Canadian Soccer Association ‘allocated’ Desiree to the National Women’s Soccer League, believing her to be under contract with the NWSL and therefore unable to sign for Notts County.
After detailed discussions between the parties involved, Notts County are now delighted to announce that Desiree Scott has put pen to paper and will join the Nottinghamshire team after she has competed at the Cyprus Cup with her national side, Canada.
Notts County Ladies would like to thank everyone for their co-operation in the process, but in particular to Desiree’s close friend & advisor Chuck Vine as well as Attorney Paul Greene whom, without their hard work and dedication towards Desiree’s ambitions, this may not have been possible.
Desiree expressed her delight at the move and being able to put an end to a long process, “I’m so glad it’s now official, I’ve got an awesome team around me, my team has been amazing and has put a lot of time in to get the result that I wanted. I’m super excited to get started at Notts County Ladies, I can’t wait!”
Notts County Ladies FC Chief Executive Luke Negus-Hill was pleased to get the deal sealed, “Desiree is a fantastic signing for us and a great edition to women’s football in England. I’d like to also pass my thanks on to Chuck who has been a great advocate for the women’s game and has shown real dedication and commitment to both Desiree and the move across to England.”
