Chris Froome, OBE

Chris Froome made history in 2015 when he became the first British cyclist to win two Tours de France, having secured his first victory in 2013. Born in Nairobi, Froome competed for Kenya until 2008, transferring to a British licence on the basis of his father’s nationality. He won a bronze medal in the men’s individual time trial at the 2012 Olympics and finished second to Bradley Wiggins in the Tour de France of the same year, securing a one-two victory for Team SkyFroome recently extended his contract with Team Sky until 2018 and was appointed OBE in the 2016 New Year Honours for his achievements in cycling.
