The Queen's Residences
The Queen's official Royal residences serve both as a family home and a working headquarters, housing the staff of the Royal Household.
She also owns a number of private estates, which are used to generate private income through farming, land management and so on. They are also the location of famous private residences, such as Sandringham House and Balmoral.
In addition there are a number of historic Royal Palaces, which are owned by The Queen on behalf of the nation, and run by an independent charity, Historical Royal Palaces. These palaces are: the Banqueting House, Hampton Court Palace, Kew Palace, Kensington Palace, the Tower of London.
