Ronnie Chan and Gerald Chan

Brothers Ronnie and Gerald Chan donated US$350 million to the Harvard School of Public Health, the largest donation in the school’s history, with the aim of improving health throughout the world. Founded by their father, their Hang Lung Group made its mark in real estate development and later in technology. More recently the brothers co-founded the Morningside fund, which invests in a range of biotech companies making significant contributions to the development of new therapeutics, diagnostics, vaccines and medical devices. Their philanthropic Morningside Foundation sponsors scholarships and supports research at universities in China and abroad, including Harvard, the University of Southern California, Johns Hopkins, MIT and the University of Hong Kong.
