Last week we
reported that Amazon was taking early pre-orders for DVD releases of
The Big Bang Theory - The Complete 1st Season. No date was given, but the list price shown was $29.98 SRP, and the second day they even added
cover art (seen below).
This morning Warner Home Video made it official, with their formal announcement of this 3-disc set for
September 2nd. There will be 17 episodes, all presented in anamorphic widescreen. Audio formats included on this set include
English - Dolby Surround 5.1 [CORRECTION: Warner informs us that it is not 5.1, but instead English - Dolby Stereo 2.0] and Portuguese - Stereo 2.0 as well. English subtitles are also on board.
University physicists Leonard and Sheldon know whether to use an integral or a differential to solve the area under a curve. But they don’t have a clue about girls. Or dating. Or clothes. Or parties. Or having fun. Or, basically, life. So when a pretty blonde named Penny moves in the apartment across the hall, the guys decide to get an education outside of the classroom. Boys, you have a lot to learn.
With series creators Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (The Gilmore Girls) concocting the right mix of logic and lunacy and stars Johnny Galecki (Roseanne) and Jim Parsons (Judging Amy) turning geekdom into Phi Beta fun, The Big Bang Theory is big on laughs. And life.
