Debutant director Dileesh Pothen’s Maheshinte Prathikaram is simply a delight to watch. It’s not often that you come across such an intelligent comedy that is extremely funny, thoroughly gripping and brilliantly packaged.

With a superb script by Shyam Pushkaran, filmmaker Dileesh Pothen’s honesty is evident in this cute little film. It’s a simple tale without much drama or action, which will help you to leave the theatre with a smile.
Shyju Khalid is in top form with his splendid visuals and Bijibal’s music adds to the whole effect.
One of the best things about this one is the performance of every artiste, both in main roles and also those who are there even in a scene or so.
Soubin Shahir makes you spellbound with his comic timing, while Anusree, Alancier, Jaffer Idukki, Sujit Sankar and Aparna Balamurali comes up with terrific performances.
It’s a comeback of sorts for Fahadh Faasil, whose brilliance was missing for sometime now. His dedication and commitment as an actor is there to be seen in every scene. We can go on and on about the film’s merits and about all the performances but it will take away the surprise elements in the story!
Maheshinte Prathikaram is one of the finest comedies to have happened in Malayalam during recent years. Buy a cup of popcorn and head straight to enjoy this film, pronto. Two big thumbs up for this one!
