The combined icebreaker, offshore supply and standby vessel for Far Eastern Shipping Company (Fesco), Russia is truly one of the most sophisticated and versatile ships ever built for arctic operations.

This new type of ice-breaking standby and supply vessel is based on the "double-acting" concept for icebreakers, which was developed and patented by Aker Arctic Technology (AARC). The double-acting icebreaker and supply vessel is designed to serve offshore platforms which are at risk of being surrounded by grounded ice rubble.
