Aircraft manufacturer Saab, had been importing cars into the UK since 1960. Saab cars were designed with longevity in mind, usually with a single model stretching over 2 decades of production with continuous development. Always marketed as niche and a personal product appealing to the professional client, its reputation for rallying, turbo charging and safety helped respectable sales right up to the GM take over and their tragic demise in 2011.
