BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:53 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force carried out a large number of airstrikes over the eastern countryside of Aleppo on Tuesday, inflicting heavy damage on the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses in the Maskanah Plain.
Russian jets flying from the Hmaymim Airbase in southwest Latakia reached the Aleppo Governorate on Tuesday afternoon to deliver dozens of airstrikes against the Islamic State terror organization in the Maskanah Plain near the Al-Raqqa Governorate.
These airstrikes by the Russian Air Force come just 48 hours after the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces resumed their east Aleppo offensive.
The Tiger Forces are preparing to attack the strategic Jirah Airbase, which is located just north of the Maskanah Plain and directly east of the Euphrates River.
