People with Nintendo Wiis will be losing some functionality in 2019. After January 30, 2019, Netflix Wii support will end.

This was revealed in an update on the streaming service’s official website. In it, it noted that this console is not supported and said, “Unfortunately, Nintendo will suspend all video streaming services on Wii – including the Netflix Channel – after January 30, 2019.” As a reminder, the console’s original model was discontinued in 2011. (The Nintendo Wii Mini, which could not go online, was discontinued in 2017.)

While Netflix is not available on the Nintendo Switch yet, it is still available and supported on the Nintendo Wii U. In addition, the Nintendo Switch received its YouTube app on November 8, 2018.

Netflix apps are available on the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
