Ducks reassign Rakell to Norfolk Admirals

The Anaheim Ducks reassigned center Rickard Rakell to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League on Thursday.

Rakell, 20, has five points with six penalty minutes in nine games for Norfolk. He did not appear in a game for the Ducks following his most recent recall Oct. 28.

The Ducks' first-round pick (No. 30) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Rakell made his NHL debut against the Vancouver Canucks on Jan. 19, 2013 at 19 years, eight months and 14 days, making him the sixth-youngest Ducks player to appear in a game. He played four games in 2013 before spending the rest of the season with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Ducks also assigned defenseman Luca Sbisa to Norfolk on a long-term injury conditioning loan. Sbisa (sprained ankle) hasn't appeared in a game for Anahiem this season, but is expected to play in Norfolk this weekend.
