By Peter Adi Fonte in Kumbo

Prime Minister Philemon Yungji Yang was in Bui Division for two days to commune with people of his Division of origin. Yang, during the visit, was received by unprecedented and enthusiastic mammoth crowds of people at Wainamah, Jakiri, Oku and Kumbo.

The Prime Minister had a stopover at Jakiri grandstand. Here, the Mayor of Jakiri Council, Shang Lawrance Bayena, received him. He said the occasion was meant to thank the Head of State, Paul Biya, for the love he had shown to Bui people by appointing their son, Mr. Philemon Yang, to the prestigious post of Prime Minister. Prime Minister Yang, in his response, said since he was born and brought up he has never seen such a mammoth crowd in Jakiri before, which he said was an indication of their commitment to work with President Paul Biya.

At Kumbo, Prime Minister Yang had a stopover at the palace of the Fon of Nso, HRH Sehm Mbinglo I, to receive blessings and support before proceeding to Oku, his birth place.
Yang also met an unprecedented crowd at the Fon of Oku’s palace, HRH Fon Sentie II. Addresses presented by the Mayor of Elak Council, Ngum Jerome Njoh, the President of Oku Cultural and Development Association, Shey John Gamkong, and the Fon of Oku HRH Sentie II expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the appointment of Mr. Yang.

They pledged their total support to the Prime Minister. The Fon of Oku, in his speech, requested government to raise Oku Sub Division to a full Division and Oku Fondom to a First Class Fondom. Yang thanked the population for their massive turnout. He lauded the people of Oku for what he termed their beautiful performance in the July 2007 twin elections. He called on them to conserve the forest.

The Prime Minister ended his visit to Kumbo on November 6 with a grand rally that took place in the Kumbo Municipal Stadium to celebrate the 27th Anniversary of President Paul Biya’s accession to power. The rally was massively attended by all sons and daughters of Bui Division.

We Are Celebrating A Dual Occasion
Today, we are celebrating a dual occasion; first, the celebration of the 27th anniversary of President Paul Biya’s accession to power and secondly, to thank the Head of State for the appointment of Mr. Philemon Yang to post of Prime Minister. The Bui people have declared their support and loyalty to the Head of State Paul Biya and to work with him and the Prime Minister to build a strong and prosperous Cameroon. The PM Should Keep A Level Head
His Excellency Yang Philemon is first son of Bui to become a Prime Minister. Yang is a square peg in square hole. The Prime Minister should have a level head and work in a way to satisfy all the regions of the country. I wish to thank all the elite of Noni Sub Division who sacrificed and contributed to enable the Fons of Noni attend the occasion.
HRH Joseph Nfon Tayen Ngam Nfii II Fon of Djottin

Reminds Me Of Bui Before Multipartism

This occasion reminds me of Bui Division that used to be united before multiparty politics. This event shows that the PM is for all Cameroonians without any discrimination. The speech of Mayor Njong Donatus was well researched, realistic and represent the aspiration of the people.
Professor Dan Noni Lantum

The Occasion Has Brought Hope
The occasion has brought a lot of hope because the things we thought were far out of our door steps have become a reality. We should support the Prime Minister in words and deeds by praying for his success.
