Nintendo to probe Foxconn conditions: report

TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- Japan's Nintendo Co. 7974, -2.91% NTDOY, -3.49% will become the latest company to investigate working conditions at a Chinese firm to which it outsources production after a string of suicides there, Japanese business daily Nikkei reported Friday. Several workers have apparently taken their own lives at a Shenzhen facility operated by Foxconn Technology Group 2038, -1.27% FXCNF, +5.25%, the core subsidiary of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. HNHPF, +3.15%. Apple Inc. AAPL, -4.80% said Wednesday it will independently investigate measures Foxconn is taking. Nintendo outsources production of some goods, including its Wii game console, to Foxconn.
