| Ingenjören är en lågmäld man från Texas med ett finger för allt som är mekaniskt vars verkliga namn är Dell Conagher. Han föredrar att konstruera och ta hand om byggnader som hjälper laget hellre än att engagera sig i direkt strid. Ingenjörens sortiment av byggnader inkluderar ett Vaktgevär, en automatiserad kulspruta som skjuter mot fiender som är inom dess räckvidd, Utmataren, en byggnad som ger ut hälsa samt ammunition till laget, samt teleportörer som kan transportera lagkamrater över långa sträckor.
Ingenjörens byggnader är dock under konstant hot från explosioner samt fiendespioner; en bra Ingenjör håller sina byggnader under uppsikt och reparerar dem konstant. När det väl kommer till kritan kan Ingenjören, tillsammans med sina lagkamrater, mer än väl hålla sin position.

- February 9, 2023 - TF2 Official Blog updated. Attention, Steam Workshop Creators! Valve teased a full-on update-sized update to be released around the summer! Submit your workshop creations before May 1st, 2023 for a chance to have them included.
- February 14, 2023 (edited): Valve made some revisions to the wording of this blog post. The updated post now states that they plan to ship a "full-on holiday-sized update" with "other community-contributed fixes" instead of a "full-on update-sized update" with "who knows what else?!"
