ESTABLISHED IN 1946, the 49ers are the oldest professional sports team in the Bay Area. The world's changed a lot since 1946. The Bay Area has led that change, whether that be in culture, technology or sports. The Faithful have been with us throughout this time. For better or worse, through thick and thin. It doesn't matter if they're from the City, the Town, the Peninsula or not from the Bay at all. The Faithful all have an unwavering commitment to our team. Our team sends that love right back by giving our all both on and off the field.
