It is lavishly illustrated by over 200 magnificent photographs and helpful maps and is a superb introduction to a war that covered a huge areas of the globe from the frontiers of India to the the Hawaiian islands. It is one of the the best book I have read on the Pacific war as a whole and I unreservedly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the military history of the second world war.
