Mithridates: The Eastern Hannibal: The Black Sea Kingdom Series, Book 2 Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

The Black Sea Kingdom Trilogy is a collection of novels starring Mithridates VI, King of Pontus, Rome’s deadliest first-century-BC enemy.
The story resumes around 90 BC, and in the space of twelve years, Mithridates has to fight the Romans in the First Mithridatic War, and then in the shorter Second Mithridatic War. The number of casualties is staggering, not only among the troops but even among innocent civilians.
Meanwhile he also takes new wives, and his family keeps growing. So does the number of victims needed until finally the antidote is perfected and the king can be safe from all attempts on his life by means of poison. But he is never safe when it comes to betrayal, and he can’t even trust his own family.
