This collection of "Early Rock to the Late 60's" is a very good collection of songs that are suited to beginning guitar players. My daughter and son are both learning to play guitar and wanted to expand their music collection to include classic rock. The title says "500 Greatest Songs" but there is only music for 61, presented in both Tablature and Standard Notation.
This collection has plenty to choose from for both of them, especially when paired with Selections from Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time: Guitar Classics Volume 2: Classic Rock to Modern Rock (Easy Guitar TAB) (Rolling Stones Classic Guitar) .
Highly Recommended!

I have to confess I am a beginner, so if you're an expert my review might not be so helpful. However, as a beginner I have foudn this book very helpful even with my limited guitar experience. I've had about a month's worth of lessons and it takes me much longer than it should to learn a song, but this book has really helped me expand on what I know and be able to play along with the songs I love. It's been a real confidence booster, even for someone with nascent skills like mine. So, although I still have a lot to learn, I found the TAB really helpful for Sounds of Silence, Mr Tambourine Man and House of the Rising Sun. Although I am still learning and not as smooth as I would like, I am able to follow along with the songs and work on building my skills thanks for the nice notations in the book.

Well worth the money. I’m at beginning guitar student and love this book. I’m able to go through it and even though I can’t play a full song then able to find riffs of various songs that I can play.

I bought this as a gift. When I received this package the entire top to my Amazon envelope was open. The book binding was also a bit bent but nothing that was too bad. The book has large enough print for my grandpa to easily read

This is a great book with several very popular songs. There is a brief history detailing narrative regarding the creation of the song along with guitar tabs.

Great selection of songs from Rolling Stone magazine's list of 500 greatest "rock" songs. No, you do not get the music for all 500 songs, but you do get an excellent selection of about 60 from this list of 500 with lyrics, standard music notation for melody and guitar, plus guitar tablature. A great selection of songs from the 1950's and 60's. I would not classify all of these songs as rock, but they are Still great songs for guitar.

Great selection and well laid out. It's a music book so what you get out of it will depend on how you use it. Well worth the price, good variety of music.

Good collection, but note - 'easy' tab.

A great collection of classic songs that every one should know. Some great info on the songs as well giving some background to them. Great for beginners.
Note: The tab is 'easy' so quite a number of notes are missed out, so if you want to learn the songs exactly as they are played you should get a more detailed tab book. This is why I only give 4 stars as it's simple to miss that the tab is 'easy', I didn't notice it myself and would have preferred more advanced tab.
