In spite of the hardships in his life the author pushes ahead and creates a great life for his family.

Reading the account of someone who suffered under the NAZI regime will wake you up to their brutality and show you how good you have it in this life, I know it did for me.

Very positive outlook on life by the author in spite of all that he and his family went through during WWII.

Great history...mr. Fayerman survived along with some of his family to run an American business that still is going strong today. So good I think I will read it again!

I'm sorry I never got the chance to meet this man in Eckley,Pa. All schools should mandate this book. Incredible story.

I met him through my family and he embraced my children. My daughter interviewed him for her middle school report. He invited us over and my son played a song for him on the violin. He showed him his tattoo from the concentration camp. He told my children never let anything stop you from your dreams. I read his book. I heard his story from him. I felt compelled to say it is more then just his experience there it also helps you realize anything is achievable if you set your mind to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but rushed.

Unfortunately the author seems to rush through his camp life , it seems only to show his good fortune. I have read over 100 survivors stories now , the majority did give how horrific life was , giving details that may upset the reader then again if you choose to read a book about the Holocaust horror and suffering definitely as it's place .
I was a little bored with the end section about the authors business, it totally lost me going on about metals , door knobs , measurements etc ....well done for your hard work and building your empire, too much detail for me sorry . I did have to scan read the last 5 pages .

Was expecting to learn a first hand experience of a camp survivor, but felt I was reading an advert for a brass manufacturing company.
I found it a tiresome read.
