One year after his death, a Brampton rapper is being honoured with a mural outside of a busy community centre.

• Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Moose Wala was killed on May 29, 2022 in India.
• He was a Punjab-born resident who moved to Brampton as an international student before launching to stardom.
• He was well known for his 2019 track called “B Town,” a tribute to Brampton.
• The City of Brampton has installed a mural by local artist Jasmin Pannu, who grew up in Brampton, to honour the late rapper.

• The mural is set up at the Susan Fennell Sportsplex beside a tree planted in his memory.

• Pannu had help from dozens of volunteers to create the painting, which depicts Moose Wala in front of a classic car, surrounded by roses and a farm tractor in the background.
• Moose Wala was active in the farming protests in India before his death and had tried to run for office in Mansa, Punjab. He was reportedly shot in May 2022.
