Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets Preview: The worst team in Brooklyn

Giannis, Dame, and the Bucks look to pass .500 against Cam Thomas and the Nets.

Brooklyn Nets v Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks travel east to face the Brooklyn Nets in the third game of the season. The Bucks swept their three games against the Nets last season (gasp).

Where We’re At

Win some, lose some. The Sixers decided that two of their stars were injured and the Bulls decided to bring their marksmanship up north, largely explaining the outcomes. It’s early, but I’ll choose to be bullish about the way that Dame, the new folks, and the old bench have looked to start the season. Minutes to the latter two have come at the expense of minutes to anyone young gun not named AJ Green, but (1) the rest of them are green too, (2) what did we expect from Doc, and (3) it’s harder to trade Bobby and Pat if they’re riding the pine.

The Nets have lost to the Hawks and Magic in games that were competitive until they weren’t. The first line of a recent season preview being “Rev up the tank” says it all (although I encourage a read of the whole shebang). Still, the Nets Faithful are putting up NUMBERS in the comment sections over at NetsDaily; typical masochistic New Yorkers.

Injury Report

For the Bucks, Khris remains out. Giannis is again listed as probable with right patella tendinitis. AJ Green makes an appearance with a right great toe sprain. (TIL: The great toe is the big toe.)

Meanwhile, Bojan Bogdanovic (left foot injury recovery), Day’Ron Sharpe (left hamstring strain), and Trendon Watford (also left hamstring strain - must be contagious) are out for the Nets.

Player to Watch

AJ Green got peanuts against the Sixers, even if they were partly in the first quarter, but he saw more action in a losing effort against the Bulls. He’s the growth candidate among the fellas in Doc’s rotation, so here’s hoping he continues to see (limited) minutes in Brooklyn.
