Brisbane Metro | Brisbane City Council

Brisbane City Council is delivering the turn-up-and-go Brisbane Metro.

Brisbane Metro is a high-capacity, high-frequency public transport system that will link the city to the suburbs, making it easier to connect with the people and places you love. The all new metros will operate along dedicated busways to connect 18 stations from Eight Mile Plains to Roma Street, and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to University of Queensland.

Metro services will integrate seamlessly into busway operations as part of a now-finalised Brisbane's New Bus Network, which includes changes to the inner city and south-eastern corridor to help facilitate the introduction of metro services.

This city-shaping project is fully funded in partnership with the Australian Government and will transform our city's public transport network. The electric, high-capacity metros will provide more travel options with easy links to bus and train services, building new and improved infrastructure and using the best technology to suit our river city.

Metros will start on route 169 from Monday 21 October. Council is working closely with Translink to prepare for the start of full Brisbane Metro services (M1 and M2).
