17th Annual Chattanooga Jewish Film Series. Five Jewish-themed, award-winning films produced in the Italy, Israel, and the United States will be shown in-person and virtually on five consecutive weeks. www.jewishchattanooga.com.

The 11th annual Chattanooga Film Festival presented in a hybrid format, with in-person and virtual programming available. The festival's in-person dates, June 21-24, are at The Read House. chattfilmfest.org.

Hamilton County Parks and Recreation's Father Daughter Dance, "Princess of the Park", 6-10 p.m. at Chester Frost Park Pavilion. This event is for girls, ages 2-18. Tickets are $36.35 per person. For more information, click here. To purchase tickets, click here.

River City Company and SoundCorps invite the public to dust off their favorite costumes at Downtown Chattanooga’s third annual Summerween celebration at Patten Square. Free and open to the public. www.rivercitycompany.com/events

Summerween, offered by River City Company. 6-10 p.m. at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Patten Parkway. Attendees are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes. The street will be filled with performers such as fire dancers, magicians and live music, along with vintage and eclectic vendors. There will also be activities such as a watermelon carving contest and an adult costume contest.

JULY 6

City of Lakesite's Independence Day Celebration, 6-10 p.m. Dallas Bay Church at 8305 Daisy Dallas Road. Free.

JULY 9

The Boynton Lions Club of Ringgold and the Ringgold Convention and Visitors Bureau are hosting a Summer Movie Night at the Ringgold Depot at 7 p.m. The event features WISH and aids Catoosa County residents to improve their sight and assist with other Lions projects. The event is free but donations will be received. Concessions will be available for purchase. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Lions will also collect used glasses for recycling. Event partners are Blackwell Automotive, Builtwell Bank and Hamilton Glass Co. of Dalton. Partners are still needed. Hamilton County Parks and Recreation's Summer Movies Under the Stars. Free and free popcorn. Top Gun, 8-11 p.m. The movie is rated PG and begins at 9 p.m. at Hubert Fry Center Ellipse, 4301 Amnicola Hwy.

JULY 12-13 and 19-20

The 2024 Scopes Trial play Destiny in Dayton will be offered. Tickets for play performances on July 12, 13 and 19 are $30. Tickets for Saturday, July 20, are $90, and include dinner with the cast on the courthouse lawn. Entertainment for the dinner will be provided by Scenic City Sound, featuring a classic big band and swing repertoire. Tickets are available at https://tinyurl.com/3krhc4km.
