Suzume no Tojimari (2022)
Nobody's bad, but just there's still a lot of scars.
When the movie finished, I was speechless and left the theater. I can't say that it was fun...
I worry about that some people wouldn't be okay if they watch it without checking the advanced information. Honestly I was shocked because of that reason.
As a road movie, I liked it. I found the attractions of each places. But, to be honest, I'd say that it's not a casual anime. How do kids feel with it? I don't know if they say that it's fun. Also, I'm wondering what the adults think when kids would say it's fun. Hmmm...
Anyway, Daijin is so poor... As a cat person, I feel inexcusable about him!
Also, although there was the scene which eventually the misunderstanding was cleared up, he actually cursed Sota, the young man who locks "Doors of Disasters." That's not persuasive. Daijin wasn't good and bad, so I thought his stance was halfway. Totally I felt he was poor...
Ryû to sobakasu no hime (2021)
Colourful images and cool music
I guess that it's hard to find how good this is if you watch it seriously. In the moment of that the protagonist became free from oppression, I could hear her trembling voice and taking breath only because I was watching at a quiet surroundings.
The setting is supposed to be a common : a shy girl becomes famous in Internet. But, today, that can be happened in real life, so I understand well how serious the face revealed is.
She wants everyone to acknowledge her, but also doesn't want to disappoint them by showing her face.
Contrary to strong esteem needs, the instinct automatically protects you from being denyed.
A while ago, I watched a documentary about a boy who is scared of taking off a mask because he entered a high school and spent time during the coronavirus pandemic. I shuddered.
If you're scared of what everyone thinks of you, I think the reseason is that you can judge values only by them. Belle weren't swayed by the others' opinions and tried to confront to Ryu, so she could changed herself.
Honestly there's many things which I cared. For example, the adults didn't act about a child abuse. Also I wonder that the troble hasn't been solved in reality and what would happen next.
However, I was impressed with her growth.
I think that the quote "I like you" was unnecessary in the last scene. No words would be better. That's embarrassing for an adult woman like me. But the creators are older than me lol.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Great art and music, but need to polish the scenario
Cross your arms, and let's say
WAKANDA FOREVER!!!!!
It reminded me what I felt at the school festival
when a classmate told me that let's gather and say loudy after our show, "Our class is the best!"
The embarrassment I felt in the last one is still there. However, modern technology collaborates African nations art and cultures. Also, their tribe's costumes and music suit very well with the movie. It was eye-pleasing!
The actor who played as Ti Chara had been already fighting the illness while shoothing the last one. In the latest one, Ti Chara was also gone. So, there's sadness and reality in the funeral scene and the last one.
This time, the setting is Wakanda after the loss of Black Panther. How do the queen and his sister, Shuri, confront international community which is after vibranium and the loss of Black Panther?
Good points of this series are that each character, regardless of gender and ethnicity, is portrayed with great pride. The queen, Shuri, Okoye and even Talocan's king Kukulkan, all of them proud and want to protect something. I felt sad because nobody's villain.
Overall, the video and characters were attractive and worth watching, but there's something I'm not convinced.
There's some spoilers below!
The first is that they solved the issue with Talokan by force at the end. The stronger conquers, and the weaker succumbs. I wonder if it is okay to continue this composition in this age? The story isn't only about heros, and also is about war. Is it okay to handle it like this and finish in that way? I feel like that what Marvel studio portrays is highly influential.
The second is that two problems haven't been solved yet. One of them is about Okoye. Althought the queen fired her and died without letting her making up for her fault, it was written off by replacement of queens. Nothing was solved.
Also, the other is about that I couldn't find how they are going to deal with international community which targetting vibranium in the future. Actually Talocan attacked American research vessel, but, Wakanda's stance has been still unclear in the internationa community without resolving that misunderstanding. The ending shows how they'll deal with Talocan for sure. Regardless of showing the problem about the worse relationship between Wakanda and the international community in the first part of movie, the ending ignored it. I'm uncomfortable.
Other than that, all music was amazingly good anyway. The second song in the end credit was a kind of funny because of the recorder's sound. I was about to laugh, but I like it now after listening to it many times.
Dýrið (2021)
This is A24!
I realised that this is a controversial movie when I watched the trailer! This is A24 studio! If you like "Midsommar," you would like this one, too. I enjoyed "Midsommar" a lot including the ending credit.
One day, Maria and Ingvar who run a sheep dairy farm attended sheep's birthings, then a creature which is half man and half sheep was born. They named it "Ada" and decided to grow her as their child.
This is an introduction. But the first part was almost silence, so it made me dozed off. They communicate only by the eyes. Apparently they live in loveless marriage because of the depressed atmosphere. Suffering..
They're so weird. When the mysterious creature was born, they didn't talk about it at all. Even if the moment is when everybody would say "Disgusting! What is this?", they say nothing and just accept her.
While dozing off, they let her wear kid's cloth. I was wondering if I missed the story because I couldn't follow it.
However, Ingvar's brother, Petur, suddenly came to there. He seems to be a irresponsible person, but spoked for us when he met her.
"What is this?"
Handshaking! It means I miss nothing, doesn't it?
Actually, the couple is weird. Even if I take that they lost their own kid before into my consideration, I can't understand why they accepted Ada without much resistance.
However, strangely enough, the more I saw her whom I felt was creepy at first, the cuter she looked. Since the moment when I felt she was cute, I've recognised that she is an individual existence.
I laughed at the scene Petur fed the grass to Ada in hiding.
Some spoilers included below:
According to someone's review, the creature in the last scene is Faun or Satyros, a symbol of penis. Although I don't know what it is at the end, I feel it makes sense if it is either of them. Because there's a sex scene, and Maria granced at her belly with something in her mind in the last scene. It means that creature effected on sexual power of them?
At first, I guessed that Ingvar raped a sheep, afterwards Ada was born. So, I coundn't understand why Maria accepted her. Sorry for doubting, Ingvar! The reason is why I sadly heard of that raping sheep or goat actually happens in rural area.,
In the last scene, you know who is Ada's father. But, considering that sheep were scared of it in the first scene, that was also rape. That doesn't mean that someone like Faun is a sheep's ally.
Ada looked at herself on the mirror and the picture of sheep. Apparently she realised that she's different from the human parents. I wonder if she went back to her true home?
Training Day (2001)
Standards of justice differ from person to person
A newbie narcotic offiecer, Jake's justice is depicted in contradistinction to Alonzo, a veteran officer. I was overwhelmed by Alonzo's power harassment and didn't feel good with Jake who tends to be swayed by Alonzo at first. However, who can expect what happens in the last part? How can a face change so much only in a day?
Alonzo does even illegal things to catch the big bad guys, so he is depicted as a corrupt cop because the story is told from Jake's perspective. However, I wonder if you can say that his justice is 100% wrong.
I don't think that idea of "fight one evil with another" is wrong. Also, his idea that catching the main source is the most important makes sense, I feel.
I never say that he is right. But I found that he has his own justice and belief. He abused his power, so it caused to dig his own grave.
But I believe that he really said that he hates the bad guys who give children drugs. The problem was only that he corrupted and chose wrong ways, but he had his own justice?
It reminds me LA version of "The Blood of Wolves".
The Father (2020)
This will happen to everyone in the fuure.
A few years ago, I went to the retirement home to see my grandmum.
"Who ... are you?"
My sister and I looked at each other with bitter laughs involuntarily. My grandmum remembers my sister who comes there sometimes, but seems to forget me who go back home town only once or twice a year.
This movie is depicted from the perspective of dementia patient. It's filled of a lot of sadness, but is also splendid.
If it's depicted from the perspective of a person who supports dementia patient, it's probably easier to empathize to him/her. I'm sure it's tough when a person who I love is getting to forget me gradually and becoming like a kid. I can imagine it a little.
Through the perspective of protagonist, he didn't realise that he got demented. He just feels that everyone says disconnected words. Something which he can't understand happanes. But he believes he saw someone for sure and listened to something even if anyone says that it's not true. But that's surely true for him. When he talked about things that he heard the day before, her daughter told him that she didn't say that on that day. Also, the next day, she fed up with that because she told that before. That's why it's so confusing. Everyone 's confused. Nobady's fault.
It is he, not anyone else, who suffers from dementia the most. I hope we can find the way to a cure for such a sad illnesses which suffers them and people who they love soon in the future.
Junk Head (2017)
The criteria of happiness changes depending on where you live.
The ending credits indicates "everything is made by me". I love it!
It took 7 years the director to make this stop-motion animation which he studied on his own. It has fabulous quality and dark joking. If anyone laughes this passion as madness, I'll give him the finger.
One of favourite things is "Kunoko" grows out of some weird organic matter which is cultivated artificially, it's similar to mushroom but isn't. I really liked the grotesque design of that plantation's staff. Another one is a driver of elevator like a motorcycle gang.
The criteria of happiness changes depending on where you live. "Bad luck" for you can be an envy thing for someone in other places and situation.
I was confused at the early stages when I watched it while drinking hot chocolate. Be careful about it.
Gisaengchung (2019)
Do you think this is just anyone's else bussiness?
It's tough to hear something about your smelling. The smelling of person clung by what they eat and where you live. I have a better sense of smell than the others, so I know how sensitive this trouble of smelling is.
Even if they lie their identities well and live off a wealthy family, it's hard to disappear innate lowlihead. So, smell is the metaphor. They just made fake identities and depended on their authority and goodwill, so they weren't raised up by themselves. After all, the fake position is worthless. It smells only like the fake. It can be told from by smell because it's questionable.
Although the first part was good, it was so unrealistic that I lost interest with the development at the last part. Or rather, I was excited by good going undercover drama at first!
I would say that it's not an unrealistic content at all. There's parasites like them around us. For example, some women who condescend because of the high status of her husband. And others arm themselves with luxury bland goods which are given by sugar daddy. There may be parasites in place that are closer than you'd expect.
Gone Girl (2014)
Process to the end.
This movie was interesting exactly, but I don't like it. Repulsive.
Is that categorized into the same group of "Blue Valentine"? The good way to enjoy it is to discuss about it with defferent gender friends!
I feel painful in the first sweet meeting scene.Their meeting and breaking up are depicted alternatively. How was such a sweet days of them broken? Or rather, I wonder if romance can't be without acting each roles originally. Sadly, I know why they resulted in that bad end.
"What are you thinking about?"
In conclusion, nobody knows what someone thinks. Only you know that. It might be better to think everyone is "the other". To keep a relationship of trust, what I can do is only to believe my partner and to try being enough to let him believe me. Or both of us should keep acting to believe each other?
Swallow (2019)
What's the last thing she swallowed?
Although I had gotten prepared mentally to watch a gross movie, I immediately stopped drinking a cafe latte at the opening credit.
Even if people look happy and satisfied with everything, it's hard to deceive yourselves. Some people can be really happy by acting like happy, but others can't be. In the case of her, she tried digesting her dissatisfaction by swallowing foreign matters I think. When someone has low self-estees is despised, she would feel like she is said that she's a worthless person. So, she tried enduring by something like self-harm.
As a human being, it's completely off the rails to stay the situation which you can't take care even yourself. "Nobody takes care you when you're true to yourself". What a hell life that is if you have to stay there while you feel so. Even if you hold on something, you'll figure out that is so silly sometimes from another angles. People prone to fall into blind easily.
Also, the colourful image and cute fashion of protagonist, Hunter, are so nice! On the contrary, I liked good acting like her insane eyes which are looking at something to swallow . And the scene of clearning with madness was also great. I've been there because I had bulimia a few years ago. I think the scenes of withdrawal syndrome have high-fidelity. I know it was a kind of trance state as well.
Wonderland (1999)
Somewhere.
This would be more dangerous when I watched it at night. It must have resonated with me absolutely.
I don't like this kind of movies: everyone has each problem and feels lonely. I'm sure I never watch it if it was a Japanese movie. There's a good roughness in some shots, and they're beautiful.
The street was showed with the time-lapse, but an old woman paused at that time. Most of the scenes are expressive by various lights, I like the way to shoot the street. It was warm. I heard the theme music many times. But it becomes more emotional as it goes to the end. Also, I felt the atmosphere is real by depicting the littering a tobacco and the road was full of trash. I like how real it was.
At the end, I understand why the title is "wonderland." Exactly, there's a lot of the incomprehensible changes and the arrant anxiousness in the world. Everyone is lonely and has been lost in the wonderland.
I was moved with that Debbie told her son that ex-husband loves him, he's useless though. Her thoughts we're warm because she cherishes the person who cherishes the existence she loves.
Momo (1986)
How do you want to spend your life?
A mysterious girl, Momo, and the gray guys who grab the time from her friends.
There's the scene in which they tried making people convert by explaining the breakdown of time in their lives. It sounded convincing to me curiously.
Those are not only time for sleeping and working, but also are the time for caring for a parrot, talking to the hearing-impaired mother, hanging out friends and reading books. Too detail! I'm sure that gray guy is capable...
On top of all that, he says that it's "waste" even if it's 30 minutes per day to go to see a wheelchair woman who a guy has been in one-sided love with. He totaled up 27,594,000 seconds of damage. I feel like dizzy.
By those cunning time robber, people came to save their time and be busy. But, the more they save their time, the more they lost it. People don't live to just work, working is the way to live.
This lesson was tough for my ears because I think I shouldn't be stingy with time. It's not a waste to spend time for someone. I hate these : "When are you free?" "Do you have a minute?"
If I must get time or money, I choose money without hesitating. Because I can buy time.
If you struggle to think up a menu every day and choose the clothes, the better ways are to delete the selections or hire the person who decides that.
If it's bad to spend a full of day working around the house, you can hire a housekeeper.
Still, I want to enjoy time to work and think basically. "The waste" is determined by the subjectivity. Also, a tough time is "the waste." But I would think that enjoying time itself is the knack to enjoy my own life.
However, to enjoy that kind of time, it's necessary to have a room in our hearts. Additionally, we need some money to have the room. Everything related.
Maybe all of the things happen at the same time in parallel. But our time which we feel is absolutely only uniaxial and irreversible. Don't lose your standard of "the waste."
So, when are you free?
Trainspotting (1996)
Sentimental moment
I thought this movie depicts the ordinary story about the drug addicts who cannot stop it anyway before. The content is that exactly, but I didn't expect I was moved a lot. Everyone is clumsy. There's a lot of things which is above reason.
Get rid of the trash friends! So in this way, I didn't feel good. But no one can escase from their past. It's up to you whether you make a new start or get out of a vicious cycle. If you would get comfortable by getting out of that, human being have sympathy and cunning. Also, we mostly take the easy way out. To protect ourselves, we hardly try facing the problems and completed things. Except for the person who can live alone, we have to face the problems and complexed relashionship.
I feel a bit lonely that Mark worked hard to become a normal adult to get the boring and rich life. He seemed to be normalized along the social rule by killing his personality. It looked boring.
I wonder if there's a system to feel worthy of "ordinary home" and "suitable life" in our DNA.
Smultronstället (1957)
Que sera sera.
This is a road movie of a doctor who expected his own death.
At fist, the member of the driving was his son's wife who hates him. On their way, they met two boys and a girl who are in a love triangle and a couple which have a quarrel each other. He visits the familar places and those make him looked back himself. Even if he's prouds of him by his excellent life and rich popularity, the another sides of him are egoistic and discriminatory when he looked back it in detail. Everyone is so.
I haven't much experience to be satisfied with this movie. But everyone who gets old and has long lives won't necessarily understand it though. Some young smart people notice it, but some old people have cloudy eyes. Or they just don't want to find it maybe.
Generally, they mostly remember a lot of things they couldn't control. However, actually the number of things they could control are more than that maybe. Sometimes regret helps them. Que sera sera.
Akiresu to kame (2008)
Which do you choose a rice ball or the artwork by Pabro Picasso when you're on the verge of dying of hunger?
People may think that creators make a living by what they want to do. The working to keep living looks similar to what they really want to do at first. But, actually it's different for some people. Even if he seems to do what he wants, everyone wants more honor really.
This's the story about lives of an unsuccessful artist, Machisu and his wife.
He had been nearby where he wanted to reach. That's why he had felt more frustrating by not reaching there. Neverless, he must create some things. I can image how tough it is. But he had to answer a need because he made a living by it. And his pride must not be able to let him publish the garbages to the public. How easier it is to make it just "a hobby".
If his goal was just realistic arts, his job will be replaced by AI easily. Is the art which has the goal worth?
It's just the "foundation" to give the persuasion and reality on his own opinion. Everyone can copy and draw realistically with practicing a lot. There's the trend and the styles everyone likes. So it's a bit stupid to ignore the flow stubbornly. The creators who make new things must know new and good ones and choose to adopt or reject them. There's some things --- sold well, liked by creators and acknowledged by everyone. It's exciting to live with them, but is also very tough. It's like a marathon without the goal. They're running out of breath forever. When they would stop it, it's "the End" really.
To go different way from the others, it would be
a detour. Machisu couldn't creat even good things because he held too complexed things. There's something about him that made everyone feel that he looked great. But that kind of expectation became a handicap and dragged him down. He's like Achilles who cannot overtake the Tortois.
There's an absolute difference between getting the top selling and the talent.
He's Just Not That Into You (2009)
The partner is the person to make your life richier. So you can choose him for you.
What is such a romantic proposing!
I feel like I became weeker than before because I was near tears by this kind of movie. It was better than I expected.
This movie is an omnibus about various shapes of romances. I thought it was definitely story like a woman couldn't go to the next romance from a boring guy. Because Japanese title is "Why don't you abandon your boyfriend if he's like that?" It was very different from the original title.
Through all stories of those couples, I saw that we meet the partner whom we were brought together for a reason if we had some problems. Also, we were breaken up for a reason. Even if I felt sad, all results were based on their reason. I understand that everything happens for any reason. The marriage is not their goal, and also breaking up is not the ending.
How to Be Single (2016)
Don't I lose myself now?
My best friend send the URL of this to me at midnight suddenly, so I watched it till next morning. I cried a lot in the scene which Alice hugged Robin. It made me wanted to hug my friend like them.
If I have some friend who warn me objectively and give me some chances to look back at myself, they're definitely precious for me. Don't I lose myself now?
To make yourself more ideal, it's not good to addicted to anyone as much as you lose yourself. If you're nice when you're alone, you must be more nice absolutely when you're with your partner.
It's obvious to be comfortable when you're alone because you can live only in your rules. So free. It's too much hassle to match the others and compromise my opinion. But I prefer to make an effort against troubles each other than too easy life like I can do everything what I want. Because it's more constractive I think.
When I talked about this with one of my boy friends, he repeated "constractive' and laughed scornfully. I was very serious though lol.
Me & You (2015)
What was needed to grow their relationship?
I cried.
This short film depicts a couple in the fix camera. They looked so happy to spend their time together when they started the relatiodmship. But it was not long before it was coming to felt them that they took their time for granted and the gap was made between them.
It's natural to find the bad points of the partner more when they spend a lot of time together. Additionally, they might be coming to feel that they didn't have to do their best any more because they were close physically.
As the relationship was getting worse, their room was getting dirtier. Because they was coming not to care the view of the partner each other. Even if the couple would get close and would grow the relaxing relationship, they have to care each other. No consciousness each other as a couple means no effort. I felt it stubbed me from the back. It's so didactic for my current situation.
Happy End (2017)
There's an unfathomable loneliness even when you're with your family.
Certainly it's more tough than one which you feel by living alone. This movie criticized the family system which only ties them down.
These days, everyone can complaint anytime on social media. It distracts themselves from the loneliness. Even if you were alone, you become less sensitive to feel lonely because of less mental loneliness. Actually you must feel it much enough to increase The more the number of people who are addicted to the Internet increase, the more you must feel it actually. Where does this title 'Happy End' come from? It's an obvious irony. I don't think that they would come up to be happy end after that because of the doubting stare of Isabelle Huppert in the last scene. So, I wondered if it ridicules so 'HAPPY END' which everyone supposes. Also, I felt Haneke stuck his tongue out by depicting the future of the previous work 'Amour.' Maybe he denied it was the pure happy end.
I feel like a bit fun to image that Haneke looked at many videos by young youtubers for this movie. Or he might check them out always maybe?
Pan (2015)
I hope I'll be an adult who likes these fantasies forever!
Young Caption Hook was really awesome!! I wish he would be Peter's good friend forever! Please!
I like the colourful costumes of the indigenous and their makeup so much! And, the beautiful sand art was used in the scene of the folk tale. These elements make me fascinated definitely!
Although I like the images and the world view, I felt it was a bit disappointment in some flying scenes. In spite of magnificent images with high technology, only flying actions were so wire-fu totally. I know he could fly depend on the fairy force. But there must be the gravity principle and the better way to fly like following physical laws!
I felt the angles of arms were unatural with that flying speed. Maybe he got his arms broken!
I thought those were key points of this movies because 'the flying kid' was important element though. Or rather, those were totally on purpose maybe ( just unthinking ).
Where the Wild Things Are (2009)
Do you think you're a villain?
I imagined this would be a very cute movie absolutely. But it was pretty melancholic. It's sad to see suppressed children. They cannot get the better understanding from the adults always.
Anyway, I was so awful of the wild things in the last half! They turned very violent! Also their features were scary! I worried if children would get traumatized with them!
It was easy to watch because of the neat plot was based on the picture book. They were timid and sissy, sometimes were violent. They were similar to human. Two of them asked, "Am I a villain?" It came up to the conclusion in the beginning, "I am only my friend." To get less understanding is equivalent for the vice?
I felt like that they got into the downward spiral. The trepidation against the others caused the next twist, and it made them worse.
The images of the desert and forest were beautiful. The characters were used both SFX and VFX maybe. I was impressed with their faces which perfomed lively, but, in another moment, I found their action turned wire-fu suddenly!
The Hurt Locker (2008)
Just the fact.
This movie was a kind of political movie focused on an explosive ovdinance divisions in Bagdad.
The cinematography with the dramatic timing, the actor's face in the close shot. The next moment, the music turned off and then...
There wasn't these performance. It had no music and overacting at all.
It showed me how much 'amusement' movies are produced usually and are including the calculation for audience's feeling. Here's just the truth. There was tension they faced in conflict zone. I just only followed it, not aggressively. It wasn't exaggerated like the tragedy. I didn't emphasize with their situation, no anger and no sadness. I just saw the movement of their ambivalent feelings silently. Having said that, I kept gloomy without their actions like getting angry and crying. So I had no choice but to put this feeling into the real with the common ground. It was ruthless terrorism. In term of that, it was so realistic movie I thought.
Ging chaat goo si (1985)
Or rather, maybe the action scene was a kind of the accident!
I like story about the police guard. It reminds me 'City Hunter' usually. I laughed it a lot as a comedy. And, of course, the action scenes were worth seeing.
Even the actress was thrown away and flung down on a shop windows! The safety criterion looked crazy a little because the director was Jackie Chan! While the end credit, I could see the breakdown and their shooting. Jackie Chan teached her falling technics! I know it's very important, but...but...
There was the flashy action scene what he fell down from the 3rd or 4th floor in one of the ending scenes. It was overwhelming, so it was repeated three times! Absolutely he wanted everyone to watch it three times 'at least' because it looked so hard to act!
CQ (2001)
Which side are you on?
The protagnist worked as a film editor at first, but he ended up to be responsible for the film direction. But the pressure and suppression by the environment made him confused as he lost the difference between the real and the dream. Although he tried to achieve his ambition at first, he was chased from his ambition and something to do. I reminded me my days, so I was a bit awful. I felt like it was in a similar genre to "Barton Fink."
"Dragonfly," the film he was creating looked charming, but also looked very boring. I recommend to watch it with "8 1/2" from Federico Fellini.
Anyway, I laughted a little in some sad scenes because the protagnist was unique. He was introverted character exquisitely. Why couldn't he guess what would happen when he treated his girlfriend carelessly?
Out of Rosenheim (1987)
I was impressed with the unlimited sky.
This movie has some magnificent shots! The perfect green room, the orange sunset, the dried ground and pink sky. I would be about to cry when I watch it with tired heart.
I expected this movie was fashionable and smooth by the cover design of Japanese version. But the proprietress of Bagdad Cafe spewed violence remarks a lot in the first half. If I didn't hear the nice reviews of this, maybe I stoped watching till the middle. That's why it made my heart calm down in the last half.
Jasmine was one of the customers, but also was an outsider for that place. Her kindness influenced on everyone and gave them relaxed. What a precious existance she was! We cannot take care of myself without thoughtfulness even for the others. I want her to come here!
