The Chelsea Magazine Company says Carl joins the company on March 25th and will take the helm from Steffan Meyric Hughes, who will remain with the magazine in a part-time editorial role as he develops his practice as a yacht surveyor.
Carl has held a number of senior positions in the marine publishing world, including the editorship of Motor Boats Monthly and features editor of Motor Boat & Yachting. More recently, he was part of the launch team for digital yachting platform, YachtBuyer. According to the publisher, his appointment brings not only a wealth of editorial and digital experience, but also valuable insights from his role as a marketeer, including CMO of superyacht brokerage Edmiston.
Carl says: “It has long been an ambition to be involved in Classic Boat, to be its editor is an honour. Classics unarguably have the best stories, they have been on the most incredible journeys and are kept alive by such passionate owners. I cannot wait to meet the Classic Boat community and tell their stories, in the magazine and beyond.”
Greg Witham, acting publisher of Classic Boat says: “We are excited to have Carl joining as a leader in our marine portfolio. His energy, industry experience and digital insights will build on the great work done in recent years by Steffan and the team.”
Launched in 1987, The Chelsea Magazine Company says Classic Boat is essential reading for thousands of vintage boat enthusiasts worldwide.
