Pompom (Rompompom, 2007)

Lonneke Leever was born and raised in Arnhem. She is the daughter of comic artist Gerard Leever and colorist Wilma Leenders. Lonneke and her twin sister Kelly were the main source of inspiration for her father's comic 'Suus & Sas', that appears in girls' magazine Tina since 2001. She studied art in Zwolle, where she graduated in 2010. For the educational children's magazine Rompompom of the publishing house Zwijssen, she drew a comic with 'Pompom', a character created by Marjolein Krijger, in 2007. She works as a freelance illustrator in Arnhem with a specialization in paper cut-outs. Among her clients are Sesamstraat, Pip Studio, Jip, Kaartje2go and BoekieBoekie, and she is also a colorist of Disney comics for Donald Duck and of the 'Noortje' strip in Tina. Lonneke has made the illustrations for the books 'Een winterwonderavontuur', 'Het vonkt in mij' and 'Splinter en Zorro'.
