Lincoln Laboratory has several business areas that support our research, facilities, external communications, employee health and safety, and more.
Business Transformation Office
The Business Transformation Office is improving the business of research at Lincoln Laboratory. By providing the tools and skills required to improve existing processes, modernize systems, and manage change, we foster a community equipped to walk the path toward true transformation. Our office is looking to further develop the enterprise operational capabilities of Lincoln Laboratory’s people, processes, and technologies; transforming into a business of the future.
Capital Projects Office
The Capital Projects Office (CPO) serves the Laboratory community in several areas that promote and provide campus modernization to enable the Laboratory’s national research mission. CPO work includes the development of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Master Plan, the ongoing construction of a new Compound Semiconductor Laboratory-Microsystems Integration Facility, and the design of a new Engineering and Prototyping Facility.
Communications and Community Outreach Office
The Communications and Community Outreach Office is the Laboratory’s external interface. We develop online and printed communications, oversee awards and special events, and run STEM programs to help the Laboratory’s efforts in program development, collaborations, and recruitment of a diverse workforce.
Contracting Services Department
The Contracting Services Department is fully committed to advancing the Laboratory's mission of technology development for national security by providing personalized operational, contracting, and compliance solutions for Laboratory staff. Among our responsibilities are negotiating, executing, and administering a $20B Federally Funded Research and Development Center prime contract, managing acquisitions for both commercial and non-commercial goods and services, overseeing and administering export control and disclosure of information requirements, leveraging market intelligence and small businesses to stay abreast of current and emerging capabilities, and managing logistics operations.
Environment, Health and Safety Office
The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Office provides support services to the Laboratory community to ensure a safe work environment. We collaborate with the MIT Campus EHS Office to meet the Laboratory's EHS needs and requirements.
Ethics and Compliance Assurance Office
The Ethics and Compliance Assurance Office is responsible for implementing and administering the MIT Lincoln Laboratory ethics program, as well as assessing and resolving allegations of associated statutory, regulatory, or policy violations. The office seeks to protect the Laboratory’s reputation for integrity and accountability while providing leadership with complete and contemporaneous information on these matters. It has the primary responsibility for addressing Conflicts of Interest issues and the review of requests to employment and other activities outside of the Laboratory.
Facility Services Department
Our mission is to enable research and development while providing stewardship of Lincoln Laboratory facilities. We manage construction, maintenance, and upgrading projects, as well as the Laboratory's cafeteria services, parking and transportation, and more.
Financial Services Department
The Financial Services Department (F$D) supports MIT Lincoln Laboratory's world-class research with finance, travel, and property services that inform institutional decision making at the speed of relevance. The research mission is at the heart of F$D’s customer focus, and we are accountable to that focus. We listen, engage, and partner to foster superior outcomes, building toward one Laboratory that is diverse, inclusive, and innovative.
Information Services Department
We offer innovative, enterprise-technology solutions that empower employees to effectively and securely succeed in support of the Laboratory’s mission. Our department has nine service teams, as well as a department office, that collaboratively span a wide array of service areas. Together, we form a unified team — a trusted advisor, partner, and provider of information strategy, applications, and technology services throughout the Laboratory.
Mission Assurance Office
The Mission Assurance Office partners with the most complex programs at the Laboratory to proactively foster safe and successful program execution. We provide teams with trusted experts to implement best practices, promote continuous improvement, and share lessons learned. We take a quantitative risk-based approach to the development of prototypes that meet sponsor needs.
Security Services Department
The Security Services Department's mission is to enable research and development while keeping the Lincoln Laboratory community safe and secure through the protection of information, networks, facilities, and personnel.
Technical Communications
Technical Communications is the Laboratory’s central visual design team, offering a variety of professional services in support of the Laboratory’s technical research and operational efforts. Services include graphic design, photography, video production, content editing, event support, and more. We bring a fresh perspective and use the power of partnership to transform projects from every corner of the Laboratory.
