Part of the DKTV skit "Fréquence Kong.

Fréquence Kong is a skit that aired as part of Donkey Kong Planet. It is framed as an interview on a music show and starts Funky Kong and Donkey Kong respectively as an egoistical interviewer and a popular song artist.

Summary[edit]

Funky Kong interviews Pascal Obispo, a popular pop/rock songwriter. Throughout the interview, Funky is rude and self-centered, frequently cutting off Donkey Kong's answer and attempting to turn every answer about himself. He notes Donkey Kong's busy schedule as a writer and asks him when he is writing songs "for himself", prompting Donkey to answer "When I sit in my big cold bed at night, I think about you girls!". Funky promptly declares the interview to be over so that Donkey "can't steal his spotlight" and mutters to himself "Phew, that was close". Donkey Kong then sings a song to the cheering studio audience, to Funky's anger.

Quotes[edit]

Funky Kong: "Today we're interviewing a guy I love. We were partners in crime, he was born the same day as me, and like me, he loves eating rillettes! [...] Now tell us everything."
Donkey Kong: "Everything."
