Panic Pinball is a 2-vs.-2 minigame found in Mario Party 5.

Introduction[edit]

The camera is zoomed in to show the Bowser head, then zooms out to show both teams' pinball fields. All players then control their flippers twice.

Gameplay[edit]

Each player controls either the left or the right flipper on their team's pinball board. There are many objects on the board that can be used to get points. The three bumpers at the top can be hit for 10, 50, or 100 points. Hitting the Goomba from above or below sets the slots in motion; matching three pictures in a row gives the team an extra 500, 1,000, or 2,000 points. Hitting the spring awards 200 points as well as launches the ball toward the Bowser head in the middle, making it count down from five. Whichever team makes the Bowser head reach zero is awarded many extra pinballs, which can subsequently be used to rack up big points. If at any time a team loses the ball, another one is given after a few seconds. The only exception to this rule is if the team hits its ball into the other team's pinball board, in which case the team must wait for the other team to lose one of its pinballs. The team with more points after one minute wins.

Ending[edit]

The players turn to the camera, then perform their respective winning and losing poses. The players’ winning/losing animations react late to the winning/draw music, because the players turn to the camera at the moment the winning/draw music plays.

Controls[edit]

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules"Control the pinball flippers with your teammate, and try to get the most points. The team with the most points wins."
  • Advice 1"Try to get the Bowser Counter down to zero. If a team does this, several balls will be in play for that team!"
  • Advice 2"If you hit Goomba with a ball, the wheels will start turning! If you line up the pictures, you can score really big points!"
