Build with Meta and gain valuable technical skills, experience and mentorship to grow your career.

What is the Rotational Engineering program?
Meta’s Rotational Engineering program is a 12-month program designed to enable programmers and software engineers from all backgrounds to reach their full potential.
How it works
Rotational engineers start by completing Meta’s engineering bootcamp, which combines training on our tools, technologies, and best practices while receiving continuous mentorship. Over the course of the year, participants work on core engineering products and systems to develop engineering skills and gain meaningful experiences for the rest of their career. Rotational engineers help fulfill Meta’s mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. This program is currently based in Menlo Park, Seattle and New York. At the end of the program, successful participants will be invited to apply for a full-time position at the company.
Who should apply
The Rotational Engineering Program is open to all qualified candidates with at least 2+ years of industry software engineering experience. We strongly encourage candidates who have non-traditional career paths to apply, including, but not limited to candidates from non-tech industries, candidates without traditional Computer Science degrees and/or who are self-taught, candidates starting second careers, re-entering the workforce, and those who have attended bootcamp-style programming courses. This program is for those who are interested in receiving close mentorship from experienced peers in a world-class production environment.
What happens during the Rotational Engineering program

Kickoff and Training

The Rotational Engineering program begins with an Engineering Bootcamp that spans four to seven weeks. Throughout this period of time, participants are set up for success to matriculate through the program via in-depth training on Meta technologies and best practices.

Mentorship and Teamwork

After completing bootcamp, participants work on one or across various projects within their team. They work side-by-side with engineers and ship live code on projects and products that are core to Meta’s mission and growth.

Experience and Evaluation

Before the program concludes, each participant will be considered for full-time roles at Meta.
Discover your strengths
Participants immerse in engineering teams for a 12-month experience. During this time, they gain exposure to different projects, collaboration, and ways of working. Learn more from a Meta software engineer and program alumni who shares her experience.
“I was surprised by how much ownership I have as an engineer at Meta. There is an engineer driving every project and leading conversations with product managers, data scientists, UI designers, and other engineers."
— Laila R., Software Engineer
“Don't worry about whether you studied the right things — don't let that limit you. As someone who didn't have a traditional background in computer science, I am thankful I took the leap.”
— Eugene S., Software Engineering Manager
“The autonomy and collaboration are outstanding. You are in the driver's seat of your career and have all the support from your manager and teammates to reach your goals.”
— Christian A., Senior Software Engineer
