Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been working their way through a packed schedule on their first Royal Tour, with a number of events every day.

They've visited schools, given speeches, met presidents and prime minsters, and Harry even climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge.

But the couple have managed to squeeze in a well deserved rest, and enjoyed a secret date night at an incredible private resort.

The couple spent the evening at the luxurious Vatuvara Private Island resort, which is on Kaibu Island off the coast of Fiji.

The stunning resort has just three extremely private and secluded villas, which are all made entirely from natural textures and materials.

Each has its own private beach, infinity pool and comes with a personal masseuse.

There's also a chance Meghan and Harry might have had a go at one of the many activities on offer, including fishing, diving, snorkeling, golf and yoga classes.

The resort also offers trips to a nearby uninhabited palm-fringed island for a champagne picnic.

The views are stunning

The website states: "Vatuvara Private Islands (VPI) offers conscientious luxury to the discerning traveler, with an exclusive experience in the Northern Lau Group of Fiji – described by Forbes Magazine as "one of the world's most beautiful places".

Guests must travel to the island on the resort's private plane.

Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya confirmed the couple spent the evening at the resort.

Speaking about their visit to Fiji, he said: "We are proud to host them. This is a worldwide event so it is tremendous for us.

"They are a couple with global appeal to everyone."

During the day Meghan and Harry visited University of the South Pacific's Suva campus, where Meghan gave her debut speech of the Tour.

They then went their separate ways as the pregnant duchess skipped a trip to the rainforest to protect herself from the Zika virus.

Harry unveiled a plaque dedicated to the Queen’s Canopy Project on the island to commit to protect the rainforest.

Meghan then moved onto Suva Market to meet female vendors, but her visit was cut short because of security and crowd control issues .

One onlooker said she "looked concerned" and she was seen whispering to one of her aides shortly before she entered the market.
