This year, the basic salary will be raised by 159,000 won (excluding salary hikes), 30% of the previous year's net profit will be paid as incentives, 900% of bonuses will be raised, a four-hour work system will be introduced on Friday, and the retirement age will be extended by age (maximum 64 years old).

This is what Hyundai Motor's labor union, which started wage negotiations this year, demanded from the company.

At the 8th round of negotiations held on the 13th, the company proposed an increase of 101,000 won in basic salary, 350%+14.5 million won in management performance, 100% quality improvement incentives and 20 shares to commemorate the achievement of 100 million cumulative global sales.

The union refused and declared a breakdown in negotiations. On the 24th, a vote was held for and against the strike.

Hyundai Motor's labor union said 41,461 people (96.06 percent of the vote) voted and 38,829 people (89.97 percent compared to the financial position and 93.65 percent compared to the voters) voted for the industrial action (43,160 people).

The National Labor Relations Commission also decided to suspend mediation in this year's negotiations, judging that the difference between labor and management was large, and the union won the right to strike.

The union plans to hold a central dispute committee in the future to discuss whether and when to strike. The launch ceremony of the grand jury is scheduled to be held on the 27th.

If the union goes on strike, it will be the first time in six years. However, the two sides are continuing working-level negotiations.
