KEEP ME FROM YOU

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

KEEP ME FROM YOU

I wanted to talk today
So much junk got in the way
Run blindly into the fray
There's no time to pray
Oh Lord, what can I say…

I meant to seek You face
But I got lost in the race
Taking for granted Your Grace
As I try so hard to keep pace
Oh Lord, You get second place…

I way going to praise Your name
But then all my cares came
Somehow it's always the same
My fear is a raising flame
Oh Lord, my heart is to blame…

I went out to tell them all
And then I'd trip and fall
So quickly a witness can stall
When your walk becomes a crawl
Oh Lord, I really meant to call…

Today I meant to…
Hey I was going to…
The things I'm going through…
I was gonna call on you…
Oh Lord, the things I do….
…Keep me from You
AMEN

About this poem

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
