Don’t go into it expecting high art or an Oscar winning script, this is The Stath vs The Meg and the film never strays from that. It ain’t Jaws but it ain’t Sharknado either.

Why am I watching this? The only thought that reverberated round my head for forty minutes. Finally, as Statham stands half naked, desperately sucking in his belly and posing for no reason whatsoever, I finally gave up. What is the point in this dross? Saw it on SKY Cinema.

The film presents itself as a revisitation of the classic Monster Movies but with a touch of hilarity and fun, a light, deliberately exaggerated film that plays with taking itself seriously without ever actually doing so. Everything is made extreme, over the top and funny by Jason Statham perfectly at ease in the role. A perfect summer blockbuster with light tones and deliberately aimed at excess. The Megalodon amuses and disturbs in the right way, complete with a final twist. The supporting characters are not too detailed and in reality they don't even need to be for a film of this type, as is the protagonist who is a ''problem-solver'' style character who survives impossible things. The Meg is everything you would expect and maybe a little more which makes it enjoyable to watch even over and over again for fun with friends over the summer.

The Meg is a Truly Fantastic film and Jason Statham As Always is Stratospheric and the Megalodon is the best shark that has ever existed in the world as well as being the largest in the world I don't understand why this film got a 47% for the critics and a 44% for the public and I must also say that Its sequel, Meg 2 is as good as the 1st film and with the Success of the 2nd film the probability of the creation of Meg 3 is highly probable and I close this review saying The Meg of 2018 is the best shark movie and the best Megalodon movie
