Motti Autostraddle All in all, Dying For Sex is a really beautiful, worthwhile, and queer watch, despite not being promoted or referred to as a queer show. Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AUえーゆー) The phenomenal eight-part miniseries will make you feel all the feelings. Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Alison Herman Variety “Dying for Sex” refuses to settle for the neutered, morose mood most expect from a cancer story. It’s quite something to behold. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Rachel Ho Exclaim! Michelle Williams and co-star Jenny Slate put forward arguably the best performances of their careers in a limited series that is simultaneously heavy-hearted and an entirely pleasant viewing experience. May 14, 2025 Full Review Vanya Garraway That Shelf Dying for Sex, based on the real-life Molly Kochan and the podcast of the same name, is as compelling as the real story. May 10, 2025 Full Review Belen Prieto Espinof It may seem like an uncomfortable and sad story at first, and also something we've seen before, but 'Dying for Sex' doesn't remain there. John W Amazing show. You'll laugh, you'll cry and for once a show that treats sex as a totally open slate and moves to places not traditionally covered. I hope there are some Emmy's in the future for show and actors. Hat's off to Jenny Slate who's over the top animated personality was just a joy to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/21/25 Full Review Charlee P During the first episode I was a little unsure. The waynthe rush into the idea had me a bit on edge but quickly the show had me hooked and I was riveted. From the exploration of sexuality to the realisation that dying is a journey and finally the very intensely emotional healing. It seamlessly weaves the traumatic experiences of dying, facing CSA between quirky and genuinely funny moments, especially between Molly and Nikki. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/25 Full Review Samantha L Upon finishing the series, it becomes apparent that the show skillfully balances humor, strangeness, and sorrow. The final episodes evoke a strong sense of familiarity, recalling my own experience with my mom. Without having experienced being with someone at the end of their life dying from cancer, one cannot fully understand the impact of the last two or three episodes. The experience is similar to reliving it. The cast is notable for the presence of Sissy Spacek. If Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate do not receive awards recognition for their performances this year, it would be a significant oversight; their performances warrant recognition. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/02/25 Full Review Lola L An absolute must see! Michelle Williams blew me away!! P.S. bring your tissue it’s a tearjerker. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/25 Full Review Andrei D Williams works hard but the series struggles to find a tone Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/25 Full Review Lorelei C This series was one of the most beautiful, surprising, heartfelt, fascinating, and moving shows I've ever seen. I especially loved the relationship between Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate - they should both receive Emmys for their performances. I also loved Rob Delaney's nuanced performance - his vulnerability and authenticity were incredibly sexy. Highly recommend this if you don't mind some very kinky content.
