All-Ireland champions Ballygunner cantered into the semi-final of the Waterford SHC as they demolished Fourmilewater in Walsh Park this afternoon.

New Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald was in attendance as the champions, seeking a ninth successive county title, eased to a win over Fourmilewater for the third year in a row in the last-eight phase.

Darragh O'Sullivan's side upped the gears to win by 12 points, 1-27 to 1-15, keeping their All-Ireland defence on track.

Defending Clare SHC champions Ballyea were humbled by rivals Cratloe on Saturday evening, Tony Kelly's side sinking to a resounding 13-point defeat. First-half goals from Rian Considine and Mikey Hawes handed Cratloe a seven-point advantage at the break.

While Kelly sought to stem the tide, Brandon O'Connell's red card doomed the reigning champs, Cratloe rattling over seven points without reply thereafter to canter to a 2-21 to 0-14 win.
