Tattoos have a history of over 5000 years and originated from ancient cultures like Polynesia and Tahiti. The word tattoo is derived from the Polynesian word 'ta' meaning to strike and the Tahitian word 'tatau' meaning to mark. Tattoos work by inserting colored ink into the skin's layers, permanently changing the pigment. Tattoos have evolved over the centuries and come in different styles including naturalistic tattoos which depict realistic images, dedication tattoos featuring symbols of importance, and complex tattoos combining various designs.

What is tattoo?
What is tattoo? • Tattoo can be described as a permanent marking on the body. • It’s history based on ancient times, and there are several types of tattoo.
Tattooing In the art of tattooing, colored ink is inserted into the body, through the layers of skin. The result is a change of the skin pigment, whether for decorative purposes or otherwise.

History of Tattoos The word tattoo is said to has two major derivations- from the polynesian word ‘ta’ which means striking something and the tahitian word ‘tatau’ which means ‘to mark something’. the history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as diverse as the people who wear them.
History of Tattoos Tattoos are created by inserting colored materials beneath the skins surface. The first tattoos probably were created by accident. Someone had a small wound, and rubbed it with a hand that was dirty with soot and ashes from the fire. Once the wound had healed, they saw that a mark stayed permanently.

Abstraction Tattoos • Mostly derived from archaic styles of tattooing, • Do not involve too much artwork. • Mostly done in shades of black and classic gray • Commonly made around the navel, chest and calves.
Naturalistic Tattoos When an attempt is made to portray the tattoos in a realistic style, They tend to take the 'natural' form. The portrayal, involving minute detailing, shading and perspective, Realism is important
Dedication Tattoos  Dedication tattoos, commonly known as 'pledges', involved the use of the sailor-based designs,  Like the heart and name banner, the anchor with a ship name, and the insignia of a military regiment.
Simplification Tattoos • Do not have any limiting boundaries in terms of the designs. • Almost any and every shape and size can be included in this type. • Panthers and lions are the popular designs in standard simplification tattoos.
Complex Tattoos  Complex tattoos  The most popular involve designs that are complex tattoos much more intricate comprise of traditional than the other styles. Japanese body suits Also known as and combinations of combination tattoos, unrelated images. they comprise of an amalgamation of various tattoos.
