Tv Girl is definitely an indie band to watch. Their sound is experimental and surprising at every angle. There is something very 60s and chic about their instrumental lines and their lyrics are always perfect storytellers. With every listen to one of their songs, the track just seems to get better and better for me, which I find rarely happens when I listen to new music. This band makes a great first impression and that impression ends up being ever-improving.
TV Girl is not just experimental with its sound, though; the group also experiments with their marketing and promotion practices. This June, the band released their debut album “French Exit” for free on Bandcamp. No warning was given at any point, but fans were blown away by both the surprise and the quality of their work.
When performing live, TV Girl are spirited and relishing every second of their time on stage. Their energy and stage-presence is a lot of fun and you’ll almost certainly want to see them all over again once their show is done. “Birds Don't Sing”, “Pantyhose” and “Melanie” are great tracks from their new album, that have a bubble-gum indie pop addictiveness that will keep you singing them for days.
I was able to attend the French Exit 6 1/2 year ann. tour this year and was blown away with their performance. For this tour, Jordana was the opening for T.V girl. Knowing a bit of Jordana I wasn't really a fan of her music. BUT, after listening to the opening set list I instantly became a fan.
After I think was a 30 minute wait after the opening set, T.V Girl and Jordana went on stage to play the first song "Pantyhose". From the starting song to the end their performance and the vibe they were giving off, it felt very alive in the venue. Some people may bash on the band playing on a different key or different tempo but I enjoyed the fresh sounds of songs that I am already familiar with. I also enjoyed how lively Wyatt and Jordana were through out the show :).
Favorite song from setlist: It Evaporates
If your friend bought your ticket and your just tagging along or you don't know how the songs normally go you will enjoy the show a lot. They sang in different keys and they changed the beat COMPLETELY to one of my favorite songs (taking whats not yours). The people around me were not even vibing with the music. At first, I thought I was being too harsh because my friends said they liked the show but they only knew one song from the band so of course they're gonna think the rest of the set was amazing. Some of the songs actually sounded the same but the overall show really left a sour taste in my mouth. At least the opening act was decent.
Their music is good in general but when performed live it kinda blew chunks. The opening act was pretty much the closest thing to a seizure that I’ll ever have and the singer of TV girl changed the pitch and pacing of some of the songs so it was almost impossible to follow along even if you actually knew the songs. I’m a huge asshole though so maybe it was fine for others.
The show was great. The two opening bands were a lot of fun. I enjoyed the first opening act - a solo artist (name?) who appeared to be having the best time ever.
My first time to the Teragram Ballroom - wonderful place, amazingly helpful and kind staff - and very clean.

This was the first time I've ever seen TV Girl in person and they were amazing. I loved their energy, their performing style, and the interaction they had with the crowd. Their chemistry with one another was electric which was fun to witness. Would definitely go see them again.
Really fun show, glad to see that they are getting a bigger crowd because they deserve it. Really funny finally and played some really deep cuts. Will continue to see them every time they play in the DFW area.
TV Girl is really fun to see and dance with. Goofy band with some sick beats. They gave me stickers which is the coolest thing any band can do ever. Go see them and vibe around a bit.
they put on a great show, music sounded just like the recorded songs and there was even dancing. Very friendly band!! I hope they come back, TV girl concert was a great experience.
It was an outstanding show! The lights and set design was lovely. I loved how intimate and relaxed it was. I would 100% go to another TV Girl show. :-)
