Your Smash 4 prediction ballot[edit]
Hi, you need to select 30 characters, with a minimum of 10 newcomers. You can fix this now without incurring the changing selections penalty.
Also, if you really want to select Majora Mask Link, he'll only count as one selection, the masks he uses won't count as individual selections. Omega Tyrant 07:00, 18 June 2013 (EDT)
- Aaaaand done, how does that look? sorry if I broke any rules, I'm kinda half asleep so I guess I misunderstood while reading them. @ - @
Ixbran (talk) 07:17, 18 June 2013 (EDT)
HEY[edit]
Stop making newcomer pages so consistent. If you continue, you will suffer relentless praise. --Quilt (talk) 06:51, 5 September 2013 (EDT)
- Either that or we shall engage in a duel of page-make. VinLAURiA (talk) 05:36, 12 September 2013 (EDT)
When uploading images[edit]
...it would be appreciated if you could avoid using symbols that don't appear on standard keyboards, such as "–" (en dash). This makes it much harder to link to the images, especially since many people probably can't even tell the difference, and will get confused by trying to use a "-" (hyphen). Toomai Glittershine The Interspacial 16:42, 7 November 2013 (EST)
- Oh gosh, im sorry, i hadnt even noticed they were the wrong kind. I thought I was using a "-", I hadn't realized it was a "–". please forgive me. I just copied and pasted the same naming styles i had used when uploading the peach and toon link images. Again, very sorry for that, next time ill make sure to double check to make sure they are proper.

SW:1RV[edit]
Stop blatantly violating our one revert policy, when someone reverts you, you do not just undo their edit, you take it to the talk page. Omega Tyrant 23:24, 4 December 2013 (EST)
Your discussion was moved to the proper talkpage; don't bring it here. Toomai Glittershine The Dispenser 23:58, 4 December 2013 (EST)
SW:TALK[edit]
I suggest that you read it before editing talk pages any further, since you seemed to have trouble with where stuff went. BRAWLS OF FURY 00:07, 5 December 2013 (EST)
Not a huge problem, but[edit]
When referring to the upcoming games, the two variants that are in usage are "SSB4" or "Smash 4" for shorthands. However, "Smash.4" should generally not be used. Miles (talk) 02:27, 27 January 2014 (EST)
- Sorry, I dunno, just Smash.4 makes more sense to me, as an abbreviation, than the other two, and when referring to the series its always Super Smash Bros., with a . at the end so to me it makes sense including the . in before the 4. It's what i started calling it when the game was first announced, and many of the pics I've uploaded have that appreciation. I apologize if it causes any problems. I'll try to stop my self from doing it any more, but its something I've just gotten into the habit of doing without thinking about it, so it'll be difficult for a while.
Ixbran (talk) 03:14, 27 January 2014 (EST)- This pattern has continued despite your claim that you would try to stop. "Smash.4" is not an acceptable shorthand for the two new games. We don't need to rush to move old files, but please avoid using this shorthand in future uploads. Acceptable alternatives are "SSB4", "Smash 4", or variants involving "Wii U" or "3DS". Miles (talk) 03:36, 13 March 2014 (EDT)
Spelling note[edit]
Just to ensure you know this - both "rumor" and "rumour", and "color" and "colour", are spelt correctly (one's American, the other isn't). We generally do not care which variation of a spelling is used, but we do prefer that pages remain self-consistent, and it's bad form to make edits that do nothing but change a correct spelling to a different one. So while it was a good idea for you to change the "rumour"s to "rumor" on the "list of rumors" page (for self-consistency), there was no need to change the "colour" to "color" on Peach's page. Toomai Glittershine The Honcho 09:50, 13 February 2014 (EST)
Image moving[edit]
When you move an image and you don't think the old name should be kept as a redirect, tag it with the speedy delete template instead of blanking it. Blanking it results in a confusing situation where the image page exists and says "no file exists, and no pages link to it", and makes it less likely for an admin to see it and deal with it. Toomai Glittershine The Emissary 11:22, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
Uneeded move[edit]
Why exactly you uploaded the same picture I uploaded into the Wiki? the SSB4 tag part isn't really needed, just look at the picture on X Bomb (uploaded by none other than Toomai) it lacks the SSB4 part. Besides, you could have simply moved the same file into the desired, but still uneeded, name and mark the redirection for deletion, Tooami forgot to tell you that in the message above. --Byllant (talk) 03:55, 26 March 2014 (EDT)
- When I went to upload the image I checked the "New Images" page and it wasnt there, so I proceeded to upload it using the image from the Miiverse post. I didn't know you had uploaded the picture until i found your duplicate image on the ore club profile page. We basically uploaded it at the same time without the other knowing. So when I found yours, I figured since my version of the upload already had the "SSB4" part in the image title, it had higher priority.
Ixbran (talk) 04:06, 26 March 2014 (EDT)
When responding to talk page posts...[edit]
...respond to them under the same heading on the same page, per our policy on user talk pages. This prevents unneeded chaos from occurring if the conversation lasts a particularly long time, or if one header ends up being shoved away into a archive.

That site is posting false information, that is not the new pic of the day. However that is a nice pic, I shall upload it and post it on the Zelda page. thanks.
Ixbran (talk) 03:36, 8 May 2014 (EDT)
No problem. --EpicWendigo (talk) 03:38, 8 May 2014 (EDT)
- Given the multitude of comments on Miiverse talking about a removed pic of the day featuring the Polar Bear and Zelda, it seems to be legitimate. I have uploaded it and commented on the Miiverse post archive article appropriately. Miles (talk) 03:39, 8 May 2014 (EDT)
Alt costume images[edit]
What's your source for the images you've uploaded of alt costume artwork of Villager and Wii Fit Trainer? Toomai Glittershine The Prismatic 23:52, 17 May 2014 (EDT)
- Screen shots, from Here and Here. I rendered the characters from the pictures my self. I figured the wiki might benefit from having them, until we get official renders of them, if they do get them anyway. I was just trying to help.
Ixbran (talk) 00:35, 18 May 2014 (EDT)- Okay so they're not official. I'm wondering if we should be using them then; typically we don't accept edited images on mainspace pages, and I can see people easily getting mislead that they are indeed official. Toomai Glittershine The Chilled 10:29, 18 May 2014 (EDT)
- Well they did come from official screenshots, and as I said their just placeholders till Nintendo does release actual renders, when/if that happens your free to upload those versions over the ones I did. I just figure since they came from official screen shots, that would make them 'semi' official? I've done rendered costumes made from screen shots before on other wikis, such as the FF or Koei Wiki, and the mods of those ones seemed just fine with it. So i figured it wouldn't hurt to do the same here given the situation.

Grammar[edit]
The pictures you uploaded with Palutena had incorrect grammar. Make sure you use good grammar. We want to keep this wiki as tidy and stable grammar-wise as possible.

The Robin Image[edit]
The robin image on the site has both male and female, therefore, so should ours. We don't doctor our images like that. DoctorPain99 17:37, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
- But then it creates a huge inconsistency with the multi gendered character profiles. They should all be treated the same in order to keep page consistency with the profiles. Otherwise it might come off as unprofessional.
Ixbran (talk) 17:40, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
- The inconsistency isn't an issue at all, especially when the official smash 4 site has the same "inconsistency". It's less professional to edit official images like that.
Additionally, you violated SW:1RV quite a number of times. I suggest not doing that in the future. DoctorPain99 17:44, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

- If reverting another persons edit without conversing with that person is considered a violation of the Rules, I hope I'm not only person being talked too about this. I would like to think Miles will also be getting one of these as well, especially since none of the things I have done would count as vandalism or false information. After all hes the one who started reverting my edits without explaining things to me first.
I was just trying to help, and then I get nothing but what feels like harassment to me. I mean I understand you guys just want to do whats best for the wiki, but from now on, try bothering to explain things to me without coming off as haughty and power hungry. Because right now, y'all are coming off as power abusive jerks, especially you and Miles.
I guess I'm just sour because I put a lot of hard work in effort into splitting those renders, Especially with the Female Robin render. I did that especially for you guys, nothing else, and I haven't gotten so much as a "thank you" or "good job". I was only trying to help.

That one image of the Koopalings...[edit]
The reason I keep removing it is because it has no relevance to the Wiki and simply serves as a pointless gallery image. Users already know what the Koopalings generally look like from the image in the box, so there's no need for another. Blue Ninjakoopa 00:03, 13 September 2014 (EDT)
Your new pictures[edit]
Please stop uploading images that could be considered suggestive or have a suggestive context. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 15:05, 2 May 2015 (EDT)
- Their just screen shots, I was just browsing google and I thought the wiki would like them. If ya don't think so, feel free to delete them.

Moving pages[edit]
Pages should never be "moved" by copy-pasting them to a new title. Always use the move function. If you can't because the page is protected from moving, discuss a move instead. Toomai Glittershine The Chronicler 17:13, 14 June 2015 (EDT)
Regarding character artwork[edit]
The general rule regarding infobox artwork from non-Smash games is to use the most recent design that's related to the Smash design. For example, Young Link art from Hyrule Warriors shouldn't be used on our Young Link page because it's so drastically different from his Melee design, which is our emphasis. "Most recent art" is desirable only if it's very clearly the same design. Miles (talk) 16:38, 27 June 2015 (EDT)
- It is though? The only thing thats all that different is the fact the Kokiri sword is of the Majoras Mask incarnation, not the OoT version, and he has the Keaton Mask and FD Mask on her person. Here, compare the images your self to see what I mean here here here here here here here. But if you'd prefer, I can change it so its the version of him just with the Keaton Mask, as it is closer than the current version.
Ixbran (talk) 16:47, 27 June 2015 (EDT)- I mean, this is a subject that's been the cause of a rather outrageous level of debate. If you want to change the current setup, I guess this is the thing to discuss? It's not exactly ongoing.... Miles (talk) 16:57, 27 June 2015 (EDT)
- (edit conflict) His sword looks completely different, he doesn't have his shield, he's wearing masks never seen in Smash, and his face is a different design. The current image is the most basic artwork showing Young Link in his Ocarina of Time incarnation, which is what Melee is based off of. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. He's fake. The account is NintendoEuropee and this makes me really sad now :( Nyargleblargle (Talk) 19:20, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- I was so excited but then saw the deletion tag and reasons. GUH, WWWHHYYY?!
Ixbran (talk) 19:38, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- *sniff* Well, at least we learned our lesson. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 19:45, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- Yeah. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 20:01, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- I was so hopeful, too! But I was skeptical when I checked the Twitter account's info, and noticed it didn't have that many posts. If it was from Nintendo of Europe's genuine account (NintendoUK, I think), the post number would be a lot more, and it would probably be more believable. Berrenta (talk) 20:18, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
Edit summaries[edit]
Hey, undoing a user's edit without providing a summary is typically frowned upon and can start edit wars. Try to use these more often. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 13:17, 5 January 2016 (EST)
Friendly Reminder[edit]
When tagging something for deletion that can be deleted right away (i.e. replaced pictures, unnecessary redirects, etc.), it's better to tag them with {{d|insert reason here}} rather than the {{delete}} tag. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:04, 5 February 2016 (EST)
- Huh, I didnt know you could do that in the actual deletion source code thing, thats handy. Normally i list the reason under it, but this is better, thanks for the heads up.
Ixbran (talk) 01:07, 5 February 2016 (EST)- No problem, keep up the good work. :D Disaster Flare (talk) 01:10, 5 February 2016 (EST)
SSB4 official renders[edit]
S'up dude. Or girl. I honestly don't know your gender. Meh, leave it aside. My question is the following: where do you get those HD 1080 renders of the SSB4 characters? Because I've seen them only with Cloud, Bayo and Corrin. If we can have the rest of the official renders, that would be very nice! -- The 70's called. They said BeepYou was here :v (talk) 23:04, 6 February 2016 (EST)
- Dude. As for the Renders, I just get lucky. I'll be browsing Tumblr or something and people will post links to the renders off site. the Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta renders weren't found initially by me though. They were found by someone else, I sourced them back to EventHubs and found larger versions of the renders there. I simply squared them out then uploaded. Again, you need to thank the initial people who uploaded them, not me. But regardless, I'm glad I'm able to help in what ways i can, and its good to know my help is appreciated.
Ixbran (talk) 00:46, 7 February 2016 (EST)
- Oh okay then. Thanks. -- The 70's called. They said BeepYou was here :v (talk) 00:52, 7 February 2016 (EST)
Bayonetta's f-tilt[edit]
I've tested it; does link to stuff; but not reliably. So I don't think it should be mentioned as one of her best combo starters. Penro ...that's all. 19:44, 19 February 2016 (EST)
If you're going to undo an edit...[edit]
If you're going to undo an edit, could you please provide a reason for it? (this one) Thanks. Unowninator (talk) 21:58, 18 August 2016 (EDT)
- "Blue Umbra" is a proper noun, hence the caps. Serpent King 22:06, 18 August 2016 (EDT)
- Ah, thanks Serpent King. I don't play her games, so I didn't know. Unowninator (talk) 22:07, 18 August 2016 (EDT)
The SSBU Link Tunic of Wild Render[edit]
Can you help then by submitting the Tunic of the Wild costume sized pic in the Zelda Wiki? https://zelda.gamepedia.com/File:SSBU_Link_Render_2.png I need help changing it. -- WolfgerLynel (talk) 15:27, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
Isabelle's official artwork removed drop shadow?[edit]
Why did you remove the drop shadow from Isabelle's Smash artwork? It came from the official website like the other Smash fighter pictures, who have their drop shadows as well. I'm sorry but there's no reason for you to remove the drop shadow, especially when it came directly from the official site. Char89 (talk) 15:30, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
- The variation of Isabelle's render without the drop shadow came from an official press kit released to website holders. The render was then made public online via those kind enough to share. So the version without the drop shadow is also official, and honestly is of higher quality and the image it self is bigger to boot, both making it the preferred variation of it.
Ixbran (talk) 15:35, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
I also want to make it a point to point-out that multiple users have also been uploading higher quality variations of the renders without the drop shadows, not just me. this has been going on since the game was first announced. Pray tell, please, why are you singling me out amongst the many others who are doing the same thing?
Ixbran (talk) 15:38, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
- Well for one thing, you called the drop shadow ugly. And second of all, you don't see other fighters without the drop shadow on their pages as well. I myself prefer pics with the drop shadows since it came from the official site. Sure Nintendo only released versions of the pics without the drop shadows through an official press kit, but if they wanted it without the drop shadow, they could've go without the drop shadow altogether. I can't even download the pic straight from the source without it being corrupted upon saving it. Char89 (talk) 15:53, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
- The fact of the matter is the drop shadows behind the renders are meant to help them stand out on the backgrounds of the main site. With multiple colors and effects, the drop shadow helps them stand out and contrast the backgrounds. On the wiki though, its pointless as here we use a simple white background. So we do not need the drop shadows behind them, so when variations of the renders without the drop shadows are made available we will always use those. Yes they have a reason for using the drop shadows, but we do not need them.
Ixbran (talk) 16:25, 18 September 2018 (EDT)- Also worth noting: the official website versions of Wii Fit Trainer and Ryu are not full body, so we have to use different versions of them. Since they will never have the drop shadow, it is better for consistency to not have drop shadows for any of the characters. TheNuttyOne 19:35, 18 September 2018 (EDT)

Edit Warring[edit]
Edit warring over an article's contents, unless it's actual vandalism, is not acceptable. You should assume good faith in other users and discuss the changes on the talk page or on the other editor's talk page. The only revert once policy still applies even when you think your edit is right. Take care not to repeat that in the future. – Emmett 17:06, 9 October 2018 (EDT)

I tried to send you this info through Discord but I guess I clicked buttons in the wrong order and it didn't let me, so here it is.

This Sora edit[edit]
I realized I should've explained better in my edit summary, but the IP ownership for Kingdom Hearts was not what I was talking about in that summary.
I was actually referring to this summary about other third-party companies that delved into non-video game-related ventures (especially regarding Bandai Namco, since one half of the company is a big name toy company and the original incarnation of the other half doesn't really exist anymore). The Jacketed Terrapin 13:59, October 5, 2021 (EDT)
- while that's fair enough fans are still confused by who owns Sora, despite the fact that its been stated multiple times by official sources. If you can word it better to make it so it alludes to Sora's ownership by Walt Disney, while cutting down the fluff, then that'd be fine. I just feel the trivia is there so fans reading his page can see this info. We don't need edit wars over this sort of stuff. Again if you can reword it so the trivia still alludes to Sora being owned by Disney, then have at it hoss.
Ixbran (talk) 14:06, October 5, 2021 (EDT)
- Again, this isn't regarding the issue of who owns Sora. This is regarding an issue on whether Microsoft and Disney should be credited as the only non-gaming companies to have Smash fighters when companies like Konami and (as I've just emphasized) Bandai Namco have made huge contributions to non-video game-related markets. The Jacketed Terrapin 14:11, October 5, 2021 (EDT)
