Nominations are open!

Nothing says summer like arguing about the best beach to catch some rays at, the best park to have a picnic in, or the best venue in which to see some live music. 

Well, it’s time to argue no longer. Nominations for The Georgia Straight’s annual Best of Vancouver awards are now open. The city is what you make of it, and we want to know what makes Vancouver special to you. 

A quick primer: this annual audience poll takes place over two rounds. First, in the nomination phase, you can submit candidates for everything from the freshest florist to the grooviest gym to the loveliest local hero. From there we’ll release the list of finalists, which will be open for you to cast your votes.

Nominations are open from June 17 to 23, 2024. Voting will be open from July 8 to 21, 2024.

This year, there are four categories to work through:

• Arts and Entertainment: The best art gallery, comedian, podcast, and more.
• Community: Celebrating what brings us together—from hikes and bus routes to dreamy vacation spots.
• Shop: The coolest businesses to spend your hard-earned cash at.
• Wellness: From spas to salons, these are the best places to help you feel your finest.
